6-8 singers will each perform an 8-10 minute set (2-3 songs) in front of a live (and live-streamed!) audience at The Green Room 42, the hottest new cabaret club in town.
You will build and coach your set with the guidance of 3 tremendous coaches: Music Director Joe Baker will create personalized music arrangements; Actor/Singer Diane J. Findlay will help you truly tell a story with your songs; and Writer and Vocal Technician Natalie Wilson will both help your develop your patter and make sure you sound your vocal best!
8 Class Sessions (24 hours of class time!) including individual coaching on vocal technique, acting the songs, and creating personalized musical arrangements. Also covered in the course will be choosing songs, building an arc, writing patter, and microphone technique.
As the performance also includes a LIVESTREAM, you will have a professional video of your performance you can use for your reel!

Joe has been performing as a Keyboardist/Conductor/Music Director on and around Broadway for over 35 years, Shows include: WICKED, SHREK, THE LION KING, BLOOD BROTHERS, THE LIFE, GRAND HOTEL, STARLIGHT EXPRESS, THE TAP DANCE KID, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, CATSKILLS ON BROADWAY, FOOTLOOSE, BELLS ARE RINGING, and LAUGHING ROOM ONLY. He has also done duties as Orchestrator, Vocal Arranger or Dance Arranger on shows as: BUBBLY BLACK GIRL, THE GREEN HEART, PLAY IT COOL and FOOTLOOSE. He has conducted for Artists such as Carole King, Petula Clarke, Art Garfunkel, David and Shaun Cassidy, Helen Reddy, Chita Rivera, Leslie Uggams, and other Broadway Notables.
As a Vocal Coach and Music Director, Joe is delighted to be the MD for the Circle in the Square Theater School since 2016. He has coached and accompanied many rising Broadway stars in addition to the above performers. He is the co-founder of the Broadway Youth Ensemble, a chorus of professional kids that has performed in NYC for over 11 years. He really delights in helping actors find their “inner singing” method!
Natalie has been teaching voice and music for over 30 years. Her voice students perform on Broadway, Off-Broadway, on national tours, and with regional theaters across the country. A former opera singer herself, Natalie melds traditional bel canto technique with modern voice science to help her singing students meet the demands of a professional musical theater career without strain or fatigue. In addition to her private studio, she is on faculty at Circle in the Square Theater School where she teaches vocal technique and music theory, and is the Program Director for the CITSTS Emerging Writers Residency.
Natalie holds a Masters Degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy, and her performing career included such varied roles as the title role in Carmen, Sesto in La Clemenza di Tito, and Desiree in A Little Night Music. Also now a writer for both stage and screen, Natalie knows the performing arts business from many sides.
