Natalie Wilson (she/her) has been teaching voice and music for over 25 years. Her voice students perform on Broadway, Off-Broadway, on national tours, and with regional theaters across the country. A former opera singer herself, Natalie melds traditional bel canto technique with modern voice science to help her singing students meet the demands of a professional musical theater career without strain or fatigue. In addition to her private studio, she is on faculty at Circle in the Square Theater School where she teaches both vocal technique and music theory.
Her masterclass series, FROM STUDIO TO STAGE, offers singers a unique opportunity to workshop their audition material with both Natalie and a guest coach from the "other side of the table": Broadway directors, music directors, casting directors, and agents. By working with these high-level professionals, Natalie keeps her finger on the pulse of what the industry is currently looking for.
Natalie is passionate about making singing and musical theater more accessible and inclusive. In addition to training professionals, Natalie enjoys working with amateurs who love to sing purely for the joy of it. She also has particular skills in working with both neuro-diverse and gender-diverse clients.
Natalie holds a Masters Degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy, and her performing career included such varied roles as the title role in Carmen, Sesto in La Clemenza di Tito, and Desiree in A Little Night Music. Also now a writer for both stage and screen, Natalie knows the performing arts business from many sides.
Natalie's students perform on Broadway, Off-Broadway, on national tours, and with regional theaters across the country. A former opera singer, Natalie offers a healthy technique that allows singers to meet the demands of a professional career without strain or fatigue.
Natalie loves working with amateurs of all ages, whether adults who love to sing karaoke or teenagers who love to sing along with spotify. And for the more ambitious youngsters, Natalie successfully prepares numerous students every year for acceptance into the Professional Performing Arts School and LaGuardia High School in NYC.
Natalie also teaches sight-singing and music theory, specifically geared towards the needs of the professional working singer. Music theory can be incorporated into voice lessons, or taught on its own. Private lessons are always available, and group classes are available periodically or by demand.
