From Studio to Stage
A performance class series for Broadway singers
Is the singer you hear in the rehearsal studio not always the singer that the auditioners or audience hear? FROM STUDIO TO STAGE is a series of performance classes designed to bridge the gap between practice and performance.
Insight from Industry
Unique in its format, each FROM STUDIO TO STAGE class features two industry professionals: vocal technician Natalie Wilson and a guest coach from "the other side of the table": a manager, agent, director, or casting director who knows what gets people hired.
What do I get?
Each 3-hour class is limited to just 9 singers, so each singer gets 15-20 minutes of individual coaching on audition or performance repertoire from both a vocal technique angle and presentation angle, in a supportive atmosphere in front of an audience.
Auditors get to observe what it looks like when other people audition, and gain valuable insight into what people behind the table see.
What does it cost?
Singer slots are $110. Auditor slots are $25.

About Benita
Benita de Wit (they/them) is a New York-based Australian director. They are the Associate Director for ‘Sunset Boulevard’ on Broadway starring Nicole Scherzinger and most recently they were the Resident Director for ‘SIX’ on Broadway. Benita is an SDC Member, a New Georges affiliated artist and a Barbara Whitman Award Finalist. Previous directing credits include ‘Small Mouth Sounds’ (Circle in the Square), ‘The Moors’ (Theatre Row), ‘Bat Out of Hell’ (New York City Center, US & UK tours, Associate Director), ‘Straight Line Crazy’ starring Ralph Fiennes (The Shed, Assistant Director) and the Australian premieres of Anchuli Felicia King’s ‘Slaughterhouse’ (Belvoir St Theatre) and Kate Mulley and Andy Peterson’s ‘Razorhurst’ (Hayes Theatre Co). They have worked on projects and readings at Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Playwright’s Realm, Gingold Theatrical Group, Classic Stage Company, National Sawdust, New York Public Library, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Exquisite Corpse Company and Playwrights Horizons Theater School. They have an MFA in Directing from Columbia University and are on Faculty at Circle in the Square Theatre School.
